Make a meaningful impact by providing essential psychological services to students in a K-12 school environment. This full-time, itinerant opportunity spans several school sites near Detroit, MI, and runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027. Work closely with faculty and families to promote student success, offering support in assessment, intervention, and consultation. The position offers a workweek of 35 hours, with an 8AM–3PM schedule and early student dismissal each Wednesday. All work is conducted on-site, ensuring strong relationships with students and staff.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Current, valid Michigan School Psychologist license required
- Experience with K-12 students in a school setting preferred
- Strong expertise in psychological assessment, data interpretation, and the IEP process
- Comfortable with an itinerant schedule, traveling between multiple schools within the district
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable to varying school cultures
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Well-organized, flexible, and committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform psychological evaluations, develop intervention strategies, and assist in the creation and monitoring of IEPs
- Serve as a resource for mental health and behavioral interventions
- Provide crisis intervention support when necessary
- Work directly with students to address learning and behavioral challenges
- Participate in building-level meetings to collaborate on student progress and district-wide initiatives
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation per school and state guidelines
