School Psychologist in Edison, NJ

In this contract position, you’ll use your expertise to help guide students through academic, social, and emotional challenges while collaborating with educators and families. Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification or state licensure in School Psychology
- Experience as a school psychologist or in counseling roles within a school setting
- Familiarity with high school populations and adolescent development
- Understanding of evidence-based interventions for student assistance programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and balance multiple responsibilities
- Collaborative mindset for participation in multidisciplinary teams
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group counseling to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Consult with teachers and administrators to design and implement effective support strategies
- Conduct risk and needs assessments to identify at-risk students and create appropriate intervention plans
- Participate in the development and monitoring of IEPs, 504 plans, and behavioral intervention plans as needed
- Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and referral services
- Serve as a resource to students seeking support for personal, family, or academic concerns
- Engage with parents/guardians to share resources and progress
- Maintain detailed and confidential student records and data for program evaluation
