This contract opportunity offers direct work with First Step Transition students, helping them build essential school readiness and social-emotional skills through evidence-based behavioral intervention.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with early childhood or Pre-K populations preferred
- Familiarity with First Step Transition programs is a plus
- Strong background in behavioral intervention and early childhood assessment
- Exceptional collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 70 students
- Comfortable conducting preschool evaluations alongside a team including OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultant, and nursing staff
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with teachers, families, and caregivers
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide First Step Transition behavioral intervention services for Pre-K students to promote positive classroom behavior and social-emotional development
- Implement behavioral coaching, teacher consultation, progress monitoring, and family collaboration initiatives
- Conduct preschool evaluations in partnership with multidisciplinary staff for new students and families over two-day sessions
- Support children and their caregivers with early behavioral intervention strategies and transition planning as they enter the school setting
- Collaborate closely with classroom teams, caregivers, and specialized school staff in a preschool environment serving children with a range of needs
This position entails primarily on-site work at a preschool location dedicated to serving students with special needs and abilities. The typical weekly commitment is 35 hours, with occasional flexibility required.
