Make an immediate impact as a School Psychologist supporting K-8 students in a diverse educational setting near Evanston, IL. This contract position involves working closely with school teams and students with a range of needs, providing essential assessments and evaluations for students in both inclusion and self-contained classroom environments. You’ll collaborate with the Dean of Specialized Services and contribute to a positive, student-centered atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- Current School Psychologist license in Illinois
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Ability to pass a background check as required by the school
- Experience with IEP evaluations, particularly in school settings
- Comfort working with students in inclusion (LRE1) and self-contained (LRE2) classrooms
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct IEP evaluations for approximately 84 students (including LRE1 and LRE2 caseloads)
- Provide psychoeducational assessments and interpretation for students K-8
- Work collaboratively with specialized teams, including the Dean of Specialized Services
- Participate in team meetings and help develop meaningful educational plans
- Maintain documentation in line with state and school standards
- Occasionally assist educators and staff in understanding student needs
Schedule Details:
- Start as soon as possible, continuing through end of school year
- Initial schedule of 2-3 days per week (20-30 hours); may transition to 1 day per week (7-8 hours) later in assignment
You’ll have access to expert colleagues and a supportive network while making a meaningful difference in student lives. Interviews are conducted via Zoom, with availability on Wednesday afternoons after 12:30 CST or Thursday mornings before 12 CST.
