Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school psychologist supporting students near Fredericksburg, VA, just a short drive from the Washington DC area. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 school year, with consistent hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., assigned across two campuses. You’ll play a pivotal role in student success through direct collaboration and consultation, all within a welcoming educational community.
What you’ll bring:
- Current VA Department of Education certification
- Active Virginia Psychology Licensure
- Proven experience in school-based psychological assessment and consultation
- Familiarity with FBA/BIP procedures and MTSS support structures
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, in counseling settings when needed
- Commitment to completing time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including the VA Dept. of Social Services check and TB testing
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and consultations for a diverse student population
- Support and develop Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Collaborate within Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks as needed
- Consult closely with educators, administrators, and families to promote student well-being
- Occasionally provide counseling support alongside school social workers (no academic achievement testing required, as Ed Diags are on-site at each location)
