This full-time, on-site opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a consistent schedule from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Current Virginia psychology licensure
- Immediate eligibility to begin the Virginia Department of Social Services background check
- Negative TB test required before start
- Experience in school-based psychological services, FBAs, and BIPs
- Strong collaborative skills; able to consult and advise school teams on student support
- Ability to occasionally assist social workers with counseling as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments and consultations for emotional, behavioral, or social needs
- Provide expert support with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams to support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Offer guidance to staff concerning student interventions and educational planning
- Serve as a resource for mental health initiatives, though no academic achievement testing is required
