Step into an impactful role supporting students as a dedicated School Psychologist in the Winchester, Virginia area. This contract opportunity spans the academic year, beginning July 27th, 2026, and concluding May 28th, 2027. The position offers a full-time schedule with 37.5 hours per week, providing the consistency needed to build strong, trusting relationships with the school community. The role welcomes both on-site applicants and candidates open to virtual assignments starting June 24th, 2026.
Ideal candidates bring a passion for fostering students’ well-being and success, as well as the credentials and skills to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Your expertise will help guide evidence-based interventions, support Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and advocate for the unique needs of each learner.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Virginia Psychologist License required
- Background or experience as a School Psychologist within school settings strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and administrators
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments
- Support development and implementation of IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning and mental health
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with local and state requirements
