Qualifications:
- Current Michigan School Psychologist certification is required
- Proven experience as a School Psychologist, preferably working with K–12 populations
- Strong background in conducting formal psychological, academic, and behavioral assessments
- In-depth knowledge of educational laws and special education practices
- Adaptability and organizational skills for managing an itinerant schedule
- Exceptional communication abilities to collaborate with staff, families, and outside agencies
- Commitment to ethical standards and continued professional growth
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and evaluations for students in K–12 to determine eligibility for special education services
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Consult on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports tailored to each student’s needs
- Assist with crisis intervention when required
- Document findings, recommendations, and progress in compliance with district and state requirements
- Provide professional guidance and workshops to staff when needed
