Key Qualifications:
- Active NY Psychologist license (required)
- Previous experience in school settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Collaborative, flexible, and passionate about supporting student well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychological services within an assigned elementary school
- Administer appropriate assessments to determine students’ learning and emotional needs
- Interpret and communicate assessment results to staff and families
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding educational and behavioral interventions
- Deliver direct and indirect counseling to students as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
- Support a positive and inclusive school climate
Role Details:
- Contract position, full-time hours, approximately 8:45 am to 4:00 pm
- Serve one elementary school, working with a caseload aligned to traditional school psychologist responsibilities
