This full-time contract opportunity is available for a certified School Psychologist with a passion for supporting secondary students. Spanning the 26/27 academic year—approximately August 25th through June 15th—you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing student well-being and academic success for grades 8-12 in a dynamic school setting near Wilmington, DE.
You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and support staff, ensuring each student receives the individualized support they need to thrive. Your expertise in counseling, assessment, and special education processes will make a meaningful impact, guiding students as they navigate unique challenges and transitions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current and valid Delaware School Psychologist certification
- Demonstrated experience working in a school-based environment with grades 8-12
- Proficiency in conducting evaluations, writing comprehensive assessment reports, and reviewing 60-day IEPs
- Active participation in IEP meetings
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling for students in grades 8-12
- Complete evaluations and write detailed, legally-defensible assessment reports
- Participate in and review 60-day IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Attend IEP meetings to recommend tailored interventions and strategies
- Consult with teachers, families, and administrators to support student progress and well-being
