School Psychologist in Newark, NJ

Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (state requirements met)
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or closely related field
- Previous experience serving K-8 students (preferred)
- Strong assessment, counseling, and case management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and administrators
- Knowledge of current best practices in behavioral and academic interventions
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual student assessments to identify academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop and recommend intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized education planning
- Offer counseling to students, both individually and in small groups, to foster emotional and social growth
- Support school-wide initiatives designed to promote a positive, inclusive climate
- Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention when necessary
