School Psychologist - Oakland, CA
Seeking a dedicated school psychologist for an engaging contract assignment supporting elementary students across two sites. This itinerant role, covering a maternity leave from November through March 31, focuses on comprehensive special education services within a vibrant school environment. The position is in-person only, offering the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and staff while contributing to their academic and social-emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and credentials as a School Psychologist
- Experience working within school settings, providing counseling, behavior interventions, and conducting SPED assessments
- Strong understanding of elementary (Elm) caseloads and best practices for supporting young learners
- Flexibility and organizational skills for working across multiple sites
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel between two school sites to deliver psychological services for elementary students
- Conduct comprehensive special education assessments and provide clear, actionable reports
- Offer individual and group counseling, focusing on emotional, behavioral, and social support
- Develop and implement effective behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and staff
- Consult with educators, parents, and service providers to support student progress and well-being
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team planning for student success
- Uphold all district and legal guidelines for student privacy and professional ethics
