About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative School Psychologist to join a supportive school team in Ottawa, Kansas for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on middle school students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success.
The ideal candidate will work closely with educators, administrators, families, and support staff to provide assessment, consultation, intervention, and evaluation services that support student achievement and well-being. This position includes one hybrid day dedicated to report writing, offering flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with the school community.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and complete comprehensive evaluation reports
Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to support student success
Provide consultation regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
Assist with intervention planning, implementation, and progress monitoring
Support school-wide initiatives that promote positive student outcomes and well-being
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Serve as a resource for students, staff, and families
Qualifications
Required
Valid Kansas School Psychologist certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
Strong assessment, consultation, and collaboration skills
Knowledge of special education procedures, evaluations, and eligibility processes
Preferred
Previous experience working in a school setting
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
Commitment to supporting diverse learners and inclusive educational practices
