Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our student support team in Phoenix, Arizona. The School Psychologist will work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. This role involves conducting psychological evaluations, providing consultation, supporting behavioral interventions, and ensuring compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education services.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare written evaluation reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding academic, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
- Develop and monitor behavioral intervention plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling as appropriate.
- Assist with implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Arizona Department of Education requirements.
- Collaborate with community agencies and outside providers when appropriate.
- Promote positive school climate and student wellness initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
- Valid Arizona School Psychologist Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification before employment.
- Knowledge of psychoeducational assessment tools and special education procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Proficiency with technology and electronic documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential.
- Two or more years of experience in a K–12 school setting.
- Experience with culturally responsive assessment practices.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
