School Psychologist - Plainfield, NJ
Passionate about supporting students’ mental health and educational success? We have an exciting opportunity for a School Psychologist to work on-site with a welcoming district near Plainfield, NJ. This is a full-time contract role beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 2027, offering a stable and rewarding position within a collaborative educational environment.
In this role, you’ll work approximately 35 hours per week, providing a range of psychological services to students. You’ll support students from various age groups across assigned schools, with details on your caseload to be provided upon placement. The district values a team-based approach, ensuring you’ll have opportunities to collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid School Psychologist license in New Jersey
- Experience with school-aged populations preferred
- Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and counseling
- Capable of conducting evaluations and developing strategies to address students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results to guide educational planning
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for students in need
- Provide individual and group counseling
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation
