School Psychologist - San Jose, California
Step into a pivotal role supporting the growth and development of young learners as a School Psychologist for a special education preschool program near San Jose, CA. This full-time, contract opportunity places you directly at one school site, providing meaningful services to students, families, and staff in an engaging and collaborative setting. The position is set to begin mid-to-late September, extending at least through January, with the potential to continue through the end of the school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California School Psychologist credential required
- Experience working with preschool-age children, particularly in special education settings
- Strong familiarity with IEP processes, assessments, progress monitoring, and consultation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort adapting evaluation and intervention strategies to fit diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and develop recommendations for individualized student support
- Contribute to IEP meetings, providing expertise to inform and build plans tailored to each child
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families to foster positive outcomes
- Support behavioral interventions and address barriers to student learning and inclusion
- Provide consultation, crisis response, and training to school staff as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely records and uphold all professional standards and confidentiality requirements
