School Psychologist | South Bend, Indiana
Step into an impactful contract role supporting young learners during a pivotal time in their education journey. We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to work on-site primarily with Pre-K students for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 14th and concluding June 4th. This position focuses on facilitating a smooth transition into the school setting and fostering both school readiness and positive social-emotional development.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver the First Step Transition program, offering behavioral intervention services, teacher consultation, and family engagement. With a typical caseload of about 70 students, you’ll play a vital part in helping Pre-K children thrive in the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide early behavioral intervention for Pre-K students, focusing on school readiness and classroom behavior.
- Implement the First Step Transition program, including behavioral coaching, progress monitoring, and ongoing collaboration with teachers and caregivers.
- Conduct preschool evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of professionals such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, autism consultants, teachers of record, and nurses.
- Engage with families and students during two-day assessment sessions to help identify and support unique needs.
- Offer evidence-based classroom consultation and support for transitions into the school setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience in early childhood behavioral intervention or preschool settings strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in assessment, consultation, and collaborative work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.
