School Psychologist - Full-Time
We're seeking a dedicated On-Site School Psychologist to join a collaborative school district in South Bend, Indiana for the 2026–2027 school year. This rewarding opportunity focuses primarily on supporting Pre-K students through behavioral intervention, school readiness, and comprehensive preschool evaluations.
Position Details
- Location: South Bend, IN
- Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week (with occasional additional hours as needed)
- Start Date: August 14, 2026
- End Date: June 4, 2027
- Setting: On-Site
- Caseload: Approximately 70 students
Position Overview
This School Psychologist will primarily support First Step Transition students by providing behavioral intervention services that promote school readiness, social-emotional development, and positive classroom behavior for Pre-K students entering the school setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement the First Step Transition program for Pre-K students
- Provide evidence-based behavioral intervention and transition support
- Conduct preschool psychological evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary assessment team
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and caregivers to support successful school transitions
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations alongside Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Autism Consultants, Teachers of Record, nurses, and other specialists
- Attend meetings and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Support children and families during the district's two-day preschool evaluation process
Qualifications
- Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Active Indiana School Psychologist license/certification (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with behavioral interventions and early childhood evaluations is highly preferred
