Virtual School Psychologist - Ohio
Qualifications
• Master’s degree, Specialist degree (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
• Active Ohio Pupil Services License in School Psychology issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) or a Licensed School Psychologist credential from the State Board of Psychology of Ohio
• Passing score on the Praxis School Psychology Exam (#5403)
• Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred)
• Direct experience with Ohio’s Evaluation Team Report (ETR) process and IEP development is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using teletherapy platforms, digital psychological evaluation suites, and technology
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Intervention
• Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral needs to complete ETRs
• Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and evidence-based support strategies in a remote environment
• Provide direct virtual counseling or behavioral interventions and track student progress
• Use evaluation data to guide psychological decisions, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and specialized interventionsCollaboration & Support
• Work closely with general and special education teachers, parents, and administrative staff to support student mental health and academic progress
• Provide consultation and behavioral strategies for carryover in home and classroom settings
• Participate in virtual ETR, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain precise and timely documentation of psychological evaluations, progress notes, and IEP goals
• Ensure all evaluations and virtual services adhere strictly to Ohio state, district, and federal special education mandates
• Complete eligibility documentation, evaluation summaries, and required compliance paperwork
Technology & Teletherapy Tools
• Utilize secure virtual platforms and digital evaluation tools to deliver compliant, engaging assessment sessions
• Adapt psychological testing materials and protocols for a valid online testing environment
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues and assist families with platform navigation during virtual evaluations or meetingsAdvocacy & Education
• Help students access appropriate mental health, behavioral, and academic accommodations
• Serve as a resource for families and school teams on child development, trauma-informed practices, and psychological interventionsBenefits of Role
