School Psychologist - Triangle, Virginia
Step into a rewarding school-based role near the Washington, DC area, and help students thrive both academically and emotionally. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 11th, 2026, through May 26th, 2027. You'll work on-site (no virtual or hybrid options) across two local schools, with a schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm, totaling 37.5 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Department of Education Certification
- Active Virginia Psychologist Licensure
- Experience conducting assessments and consultations in educational settings
- Familiarity with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Quick adaptability to new credentialing processes—background and TB test required at onboarding
In this role, you will:
- Lead student assessments and provide expert consultation to educational teams
- Support and help develop FBA/BIP for individual students as part of the district’s behavioral support strategies
- Offer periodic assistance with MTSS implementation to promote positive student outcomes
- Occasionally collaborate with school social workers for counseling support as needed (academic achievement testing is covered by Educational Diagnosticians on staff)
- Maintain clear, detailed records and work collaboratively with educators and administrators across two schools, ensuring all student needs are addressed
