School Psychologist | Triangle, Virginia
Step into a vital role supporting student success as a full-time school psychologist near the Washington DC area (just 45 minutes south of the city). This is an on-site contract opportunity—remote or hybrid options are not available. You'll work across two schools within a school week of 37.5 hours, scheduled from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, beginning August 11, 2026, and continuing through May 26, 2027.
Ideal candidates are equipped and ready to provide high-quality assessment and consultation services, support Functional Behavioral Assessments/Behavior Intervention Plans (FBA/BIP), and may occasionally contribute to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Collaboration with social workers for counseling may happen on a limited basis; however, academic achievement testing is not part of this role, since educational diagnosticians are present in every building.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) Certification required
- Current Virginia Psychology License
- Experience working as a School Psychologist in K-12 settings
- Comfortable conducting student assessments and supporting behavioral intervention plans
- Familiarity with MTSS and working alongside multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency and professionalism in managing a consistent full-time schedule across two schools
- Ability to complete credentialing promptly, including the VA Department of Social Services background check and a current TB Test
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and participate in consultation services
- Support Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop comprehensive BIPs
- Collaborate with social workers and other educational professionals as needed
- Provide input and support for MTSS processes and student interventions
