School Psychologist - Waukegan, Illinois

The position is a contract role and will cover a medical leave, with the likelihood to extend through the entire school year.
The school features a BEST/STRIVE special education program, and you’ll be joining a collaborative environment alongside another psychologist who primarily focuses on these programs. Your typical week will include a consistent and manageable schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:50 AM to 2:50 PM, and an extended Wednesday from 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM.
Desired skills and experiences:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in elementary school settings preferred
- Familiarity with special education programs and services
- Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and consultation
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to student advocacy
Primary responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations, reevaluations, and assessments for K-5 students
- Provide crisis support and intervention as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based decision-making
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and service providers
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Document services and progress in accordance with district and state guidelines
