School Psychologist - Waukegan, Illinois
Make a meaningful impact as an Elementary School Psychologist supporting students from preschool through fifth grade during a maternity leave coverage. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations for preschool to fifth-grade students, collaborating with teachers and parents to identify student needs, and providing expertise on social, emotional, and educational development. Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred, and in-person presence is ideal, though flexible scheduling is possible for qualified candidates.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist credential
- Demonstrated experience as a school psychologist, preferably in elementary settings
- Comfort evaluating students in preschool through grade five
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are an asset but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a variable student evaluation load
- Adaptable for both in-person and potential hybrid schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations
- Develop intervention and support strategies for students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of IEPs and behavior plans
- Deliver professional recommendations to faculty and families
- Participate in student-support meetings as needed
