Desired Qualifications:
- Current and valid Virginia state School Psychologist license
- Experience working in a K-12 setting, especially with elementary-aged students, is highly valued
- Strong assessment, consultation, and counseling skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other support staff
- Proficient in developing and monitoring individualized education and intervention plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Commitment to supporting a positive, inclusive school culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments for referred students
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and participate in eligibility meetings
- Offer individual and small group counseling to support emotional and social development
- Consult with teachers and staff to implement effective classroom interventions
- Serve on multidisciplinary teams to determine appropriate services and supports
- Partner with families to address students’ academic and behavioral needs
- Support the overall mental health and well-being initiatives within the school environment
This full-time assignment features a work week of 37.5 hours, allowing for meaningful engagement with students and collaboration with colleagues throughout the school week.
