This onsite contract opportunity centers on behavior plan development and staff collaboration to support positive student growth at two sites near Alcalde, NM, for the full academic year. You’ll spend weekdays providing essential services—ranging from pre-referral interventions to comprehensive evaluations—in a supportive and educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a school psychologist or school social worker
- Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plans
- Experience supporting staff with strategies to manage student behaviors across various settings
- Background working with elementary-aged children in a school environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to work across two different school sites as needed
- Proficiency in conducting pre-referral assessments and participating in the evaluation process
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans for students
- Consult with teachers and support staff to ensure effective implementation of behavior strategies
- Offer guidance and training to staff for classroom and non-classroom behavior management
- Conduct assessments to inform pre-referral and special education eligibility decisions
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and intervention effectiveness
- Maintain detailed and confidential documentation for all student interactions and services
- Adapt approaches as needed to various school settings and diverse student needs
