Working Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., you will immerse yourself in a collaborative school atmosphere. With a building population of 380 students, you'll play a vital role on the evaluation team and serve as a key resource for students, staff, and administrators.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist in Illinois
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, evaluation processes, and MTSS frameworks
- Proficiency in conducting initial and reevaluations, interpreting data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills and a supportive, problem-solving approach
- Ability to manage sensitive situations, including crisis intervention
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform all initial and re-evaluations for special education eligibility within the elementary building
- Support data review for students in MTSS, contributing insight and expertise
- Assist students in crisis, offering guidance and intervention
- Collaborate with the district to conduct parochial school evaluations under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services
- Strengthen school teams by offering consultation and supporting best practices, though this role does not involve holding IEP therapy minutes with students
