School Psychologist | Chatham, Massachusetts
A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced professional skilled in school psychological services to support a vibrant middle school student community. This contract position offers a full-time schedule, comprising 30 hours weekly—Monday to Friday, 6 hours each day—providing both structure and work-life balance. In this engaging role, you will predominantly conduct evaluations, while also serving as an essential resource for students requiring additional emotional or behavioral support.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in working with adolescents experiencing behavioral, mental health, social, and emotional challenges. Familiarity with tiered intervention frameworks and social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum is highly valued, as is your ability to support students in achieving counseling goals outlined in their IEPs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a school-based or similar environment preferred
- Master’s degree in School Psychology or closely related field preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in student evaluations and psychoeducational assessments
- Proven success implementing tiered interventions, SEL strategies, and positive behavior supports
- Experience providing direct and consultative support for IEP counseling goals
- Approachable, collaborative, and committed to fostering a supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive academic, social, emotional, and behavioral evaluations for middle school students
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to interpret data and develop intervention strategies
- Deliver counseling and targeted SEL instruction for students, both individually and in small groups
- Consult on behavioral plans and contribute to the development and progress monitoring of IEPs
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices in psychological wellness and intervention
