School Psychologist in Schaumburg, IL
Make a meaningful difference for students by supporting their academic, behavioral, and emotional needs. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated School Psychologist eager to contribute full-time for the full school year in a PreK–4th grade setting. The caseload focuses on early childhood evaluations and re-evaluations, as well as conducting threat and/or mental health assessments to promote a safe and supportive school climate.
Your expertise will be valued in identifying and addressing learning and behavioral challenges, collaborating with educators and families to maximize student success, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Those with Early Intervention experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) as a School Psychologist in Illinois
- Experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and evaluation processes
- Experience or knowledge in threat assessments and mental health assessments
- Background in PreK–4th grade preferred
- Early Intervention experience highly desirable
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Conduct early childhood and school-age psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop student plans
- Administer and interpret assessments related to learning, behavior, and mental health
- Provide crisis intervention and threat assessments as needed
- Consult with teachers, families, and outside agencies regarding student needs
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation
- Promote positive social-emotional outcomes
