This role calls for an insightful professional with experience in elementary settings, supporting behavior intervention and staff collaboration across possibly two locations. You’ll provide a variety of essential services, including counselor support, behavior plan development, and pre-referral and evaluative activities, contributing to a productive, inclusive learning environment for all.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure/certification as a school psychologist or school social worker
- Proven experience developing and implementing behavior intervention plans in elementary schools
- Proficiency in conducting pre-referral interventions and participating in evaluation processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to work onsite, providing in-person support and consultation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior plans for students
- Assist school staff in understanding and managing challenging behaviors in various educational settings
- Conduct behavioral assessments, collect data, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Facilitate pre-referral and evaluation processes for students needing additional support
- Provide expert recommendations and strategies to foster a positive, supportive classroom climate
- Support staff with consultation and professional development related to behavior management
