Qualifications:
- Master’s or higher degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Current licensure or certification as a School Psychologist (as required by the state of Hawaii)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Proficient in conducting psychological assessments, developing IEPs, and providing counseling
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledgeable about special education laws and best practices
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver counseling services and interventions to support student mental health
- Consult with staff on effective strategies to address behavioral and learning challenges
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and provide expertise in student evaluation and placement
- Support crisis prevention and intervention efforts within the school community
This contract position offers the chance to serve multiple school sites with a manageable caseload. The district supports supervision for eligible professionals and provides a collaborative working atmosphere. School Psychologists work standard school hours with flexibility based on school events and meetings.
