School Psychologist in Huntsville, AL

This full-time position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the 2026–2027 school year, offering the chance to make a lasting impact on educational outcomes across the district.
In this essential role, you’ll deliver comprehensive psychological and psychometrist services on a districtwide basis. Successful candidates possess a current or eligible Alabama school-based Psychologist or Psychometrist certification. You’ll be responsible for conducting psychoeducational evaluations and reevaluations, determining eligibility, preparing thorough reports, contributing in IEP and eligibility meetings, and engaging collaboratively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. A candidate should be adept at assessment administration and interpretation, and demonstrate strict adherence to state and federal Special Education compliance requirements.
Desired experience and qualifications include:
- Alabama school-based Psychologist or Psychometrist certification (or eligibility)
- Strong background in psychoeducational evaluations and reporting
- Familiarity with Alabama’s eligibility regulations and compliance standards
- Experience serving multiple schools within a district
- Skilled with consultation, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and behavioral interventions
- Outstanding collaboration, communication, and organization skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing and interpreting a variety of assessments
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of eligibility reports
- Participating in decision-making meetings such as IEP and eligibility conferences
- Consulting with school personnel and families
- Supporting districtwide special education initiatives
