These assignments provide the chance to make a meaningful difference across several school sites, partnering with educators and families to nurture student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychoeducational evaluations, assessments, and re-evaluations for a diverse K-12 population.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise as a collaborative member of multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver both direct support to students (such as counseling and intervention) and indirect consultation for staff and families.
- Implement crisis intervention protocols and effective behavior management strategies when needed.
- Accurately maintain documentation of services, with paid administrative and meeting hours included in your weekly schedule.
Qualifications:
- Current California credentialing in School Psychology (e.g., valid PPS Credential) required.
- Ability to successfully complete all required state background checks and fingerprinting prior to assignment.
- Strong communication skills, including assessment, collaboration, and report-writing.
- Welcoming applicants who are travel candidates or are considering relocation; support is available for those new to the area.
Assignment Details:
- Two positions available: one for an immediate start running through March 2027 (potential for extension), and one from late October through mid-December 2026.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, including paid time for indirect services and meetings.
- On-site work across several K-12 school locations in Mission Viejo, fostering relationships with students and staff.
- Interviews are conducted via Zoom for your convenience.
