School Psychologist - North East, Maryland
An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated School Psychologist eager to support students in a well-resourced Maryland educational setting. This contract position begins as soon as possible and will continue through mid-June, with a traditional Monday through Friday schedule. You’ll provide vital psychoeducational evaluations and counseling services for elementary or middle school-age students, managing a dynamic caseload that averages around 70 evaluations annually—with additional counseling responsibilities. Flexibility is essential, as actual referral numbers may fluctuate throughout the year.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Maryland State Department of Education certification in School Psychology.
- Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge and practical application of psychoeducational assessments.
- Familiarity with supporting students through attendance at MTSS meetings, IEP meetings, and 504 plan meetings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and counseling skills for work with both students and multidisciplinary teams.
- Readiness to work on-site; position prioritizes in-person candidates.
- Ability to manage varying caseloads and adapt to school needs as they arise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments for elementary or middle school students.
- Provide direct counseling and support for students as needed.
- Collaborate proactively with staff through MTSS, IEP, and 504 meetings.
- Maintain thorough, timely reporting and documentation.
- Engage positively with families and educational teams to support student growth.
- Utilize school-provided technology (laptop provided) for assessments and record-keeping.
