School Psychologist - Oxford, CT
Step into an impactful contract opportunity serving high school students as a School Psychologist in a supportive educational environment. This role begins ASAP and extends through June 10, 2027, focusing on both direct student support and comprehensive evaluations. Hybrid work options may be available, creating the flexibility to balance on-site and remote responsibilities.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
- Valid and current state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience providing mental health counseling to adolescents in a school or clinical setting
- Skilled in conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment results
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Adept at collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams
- Comfortable managing a varied caseload and adapting to changing priorities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing counseling to approximately 10 high school students, with sessions scheduled weekly or biweekly, addressing social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Complete 28 student evaluations over the academic year, including assessments, reports, and participation in eligibility meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student learning and well-being
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant ethical and legal guidelines
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, consulting on student progress and intervention strategies
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in the field
