About the Opportunity
ProCare Therapy is seeking dedicated and compassionate School Psychologists to join Portsmouth Public Schools in Portsmouth, Virginia for the 2026–2027 school year. The district has 1.5 positions available and welcomes both full-time and part-time candidates. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive K–12 district that consistently renews contracts year after year, making it an ideal fit for clinicians seeking long-term opportunities or travel assignments.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations.
Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports.
Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide consultation and recommendations to teachers, families, and school staff.
Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success.
Collaborate with school personnel to develop and implement effective interventions.
Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications
Active Virginia School Psychologist license/certification (or ability to obtain prior to the start date).
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Previous school-based experience is preferred but not required.
