- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education.
- Assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, and social functioning using standardized assessments.
- Interpret assessment data and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Determine eligibility for special education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings.
- Help develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by providing recommendations based on evaluation findings.
- Collaborate with educational diagnosticians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
- Develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Provide behavioral consultation to teachers and administrators.
- Assist with crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and threat assessments when needed.
- Support campus teams implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI).
- Complete evaluations within state-mandated timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations and federal special education law.
- Write legally defensible psychological reports
