Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist licensure in the state of Illinois
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, and team members
- Deep understanding of special education law and best practices
- Flexibility to travel between schools (required for early childhood role)
- Experience in conducting re-evaluations, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and initial evaluations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations for students at various developmental stages, focusing on both initial eligibility and re-evaluations
- Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, maintaining a commitment to clear, compassionate communication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including preschool partners and special education staff
- Lead and support data-driven problem-solving meetings for grades K-4
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on special education legal requirements and early childhood evaluation procedures
Position Options:
- Early Childhood Psychologist (0.6 FTE): Screen and evaluate children ages 3-5, coordinate with multiple preschools, and guide transitioning families through the evaluation process.
- School Psychologist (Grades K-4) (1.0 FTE): Support students in elementary grades, facilitate MTSS and IEP team meetings, and drive positive outcomes through data-informed decision-making.
