School Psychologist - Fredericksburg, Virginia
Exciting opportunity for a dedicated school psychologist to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant educational environment located about 45 minutes south of Washington DC. In this full-time contract role, you’ll support two schools Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, focusing on the well-being and academic success of K-12 students. Your expertise in assessment, consultation, and behavioral interventions will truly make a difference in this engaged school community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (DOE) Certification required
- Current Virginia Psychologist License
- Strong experience with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to begin Virginia Department of Social Services credentialing promptly
- Recent TB test, or willingness to complete one prior to start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver psychological assessments and consultations for students across two dynamic campuses
- Provide FBA/BIP support and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student growth
- Occasionally assist school social workers in counseling, as needs arise
- Participate in MTSS initiatives to support whole-school wellness strategies
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and comply with all state and district policies
- No academic achievement testing required, thanks to in-building educational diagnosticians
