Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated School Psychologist to provide psychological services and support during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. The School Psychologist will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments for students in Pre-K through 8th grade.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop appropriate interventions and support plans.
- Provide consultation regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Support students and staff through crisis intervention and problem-solving processes when necessary.
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Department of Education (LA DOE) School Psychologist credential/licensure required.
- Master's, Specialist (Ed. S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of special education laws, evaluation procedures, and intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Credentialing Requirements
Time-Sensitive Requirements:
- District background check required.
- Fingerprinting must be completed before the start of the assignment.
- All required credentials and documentation must be submitted prior to onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with Pre-K through middle school-aged students.
- Familiarity with ESY programs and special education processes.
- Experience conducting evaluations and participating in IEP team meetings.
