High School School Psychologist - Canton, MI
Make an impact supporting high school students as a School Psychologist serving multiple campuses near Detroit, MI. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 18, 2027, with a convenient weekday schedule—work from 9:00am to 2:30pm for a total of 27.5 hours per week. You’ll travel between four nearby locations, all within ten minutes of one another, including a unique option to serve a juvenile justice facility.
This role focuses on high school-aged youth, offering the chance to collaborate with educational teams and support the diverse needs of approximately 120 special education students. As a W2 hourly contract assignment, you can also access healthcare benefits and competitive pay at $50-56 per hour.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Previous experience with high school populations strongly preferred
- Familiarity with special education policies and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes
- Ability to adapt to itinerant work across multiple campuses
- Excellent interpersonal, assessment, and counseling skills
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility in working with students in both traditional and justice facility settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and academic assessments for high school students
- Participate in eligibility meetings and IEP development for special education services
- Offer counseling and social-emotional support to students as needed
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Complete reports and maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Adapt practices to support students in diverse environments, including a juvenile justice facility
