Make an impact working with high school students as a School Psychologist through an itinerant contract role serving multiple campuses close to Sterling Heights, MI. This assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 18, 2027, offering a consistent schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a total of 27.5 hours per week. You’ll support approximately 120 special education students spread across four campuses—each within a ten-minute drive of one another—including one located in a juvenile justice facility.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist in Michigan
- Proven experience working with high school-aged students
- Familiarity with special education assessments, interventions, and IEP meetings
- Comfortable serving in diverse settings, including juvenile justice facilities
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel between campuses as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for special education eligibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention to students as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to support student success
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams in addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Serve as a resource and advocate for high school students, including those in alternative and justice-involved settings
