This contract position is based near Suffolk, VA, and offers full-time hours—40 per week—across 2-3 school sites depending on assigned caseloads. The student populations and work sites will be matched as closely as possible to your preferences, ensuring a dynamic yet tailored experience throughout the year.
What You'll Bring:
- Current School Psychologist certification and relevant state licensure
- Experience or strong interest in working as a School Psychologist within K-12 settings
- Familiarity with cognitive assessments, rating scales, and student evaluations
- Collaborative mindset to partner with educational diagnosticians and related service professionals
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret eligibility criteria, guide school teams through complex processes, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
Role Highlights:
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations, including cognitive testing, classroom observations, and interpreting results
- Lead and participate in eligibility, reevaluation, child study, manifestation, and termination meetings
- Collaborate with educational diagnosticians, school social workers, and other related service providers
- Support school teams in understanding and applying eligibility criteria
- Manage multiple sites as part of a supportive and fully staffed team of seven School Psychologists
- Receive ongoing support and caseload guidance from a dedicated recruiter
