School Psychologist - Chicago, IL
Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a dedicated school psychologist in a vibrant educational setting near Chicago, IL, for the upcoming academic year. In this contract position, you'll work closely with a diverse team, lending your expertise to an elementary school population of approximately 380 students from August 26, 2024, through June 10, 2025. Your weekdays will align with the school schedule, running from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm, providing a balanced work-life structure.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification for Illinois
- Experience or significant coursework in conducting initial and re-evaluations for special education
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes
- Skilled at crisis intervention for school-aged children
- Strong team collaboration abilities, especially with educational staff and administrators
- Proficient with data analysis to support learning and behavioral objectives
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core team member in all initial and re-evaluations for special education within the elementary school
- Support review and interpretation of student data as part of the MTSS process
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support, as needed, to students in distress
- Participate in district-wide assessments, including parochial initial and reevaluations under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
- Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and families to promote inclusive learning environments
In this contract role, you’ll contribute vital expertise without managing IEP therapy minutes or regular therapy sessions, allowing you to focus on evaluations and systemic student support.
