Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time School Psychologist to join our team in Danville, Virginia. The School Psychologist will support students’ academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental success by providing comprehensive psychological services within a collaborative school environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting student growth, skilled in assessment and consultation, and committed to partnering with educators, families, and administrators to create safe and supportive learning environments.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, including cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments
* Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations to support student success
* Participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
* Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop effective interventions
* Provide consultation regarding academic, behavioral, and emotional concerns impacting student learning
* Support the development and implementation of intervention plans and behavior support strategies
* Assist with crisis prevention, response, and recovery efforts when needed
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal special education regulations
* Provide guidance and support related to eligibility determination and special education services
Qualifications
* Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field
* Valid Virginia licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist
* Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments preferred
* Knowledge of special education regulations and IEP processes
* Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school teams
