School Psychologist - Des Plaines, IL

This assignment runs from August 26, 2024, through June 10, 2025, and follows a standard Monday-Friday school schedule, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM. You’ll work within a supportive elementary school environment, serving a population of approximately 380 students.
Key responsibilities include participating as a vital team member for all initial and re-evaluations related to special education, supporting multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) data reviews, and providing crisis support to students as needed. Notably, the school psychologist in this role is not required to hold IEP therapy minutes or conduct ongoing sessions. Additional duties involve collaborating with district leadership to assist with initial and re-evaluations at local parochial schools under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement
- Experience as a school psychologist in elementary settings preferred
- Solid understanding of special education evaluation processes and MTSS frameworks
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience supporting students in crisis is a plus
