School Psychologist | Dumfries, Virginia
Seeking an experienced professional with expertise in school psychology to serve a welcoming community just south of Washington, DC. This full-time contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact across two campuses—one elementary and one middle school—covering a broad range of responsibilities in a supportive environment.
Your core focus will be on assessment and consultation, functional behavior assessments/behavior intervention plan (FBA/BIP) support, and occasional multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) activities. Educational diagnosticians are available in every building, so you will not be responsible for academic achievement testing. There’s also occasionally support provided to social workers for counseling needs.
The assignment runs from early August through late May, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–3:30 pm). While this is primarily an in-person role, there is potential for a hybrid arrangement—one remote work day each week (4 on-site, 1 remote)—depending on district needs.
Desired Background and Experience:
- Active Virginia Department of Education Certification
- Active Virginia Psychology Licensure
- Relevant experience in school-based psychological assessment, consultation, and behavioral planning
- Comfortable working with elementary and middle school students
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Prompt completion of compliance and credentialing requirements, including the VA Dept. of Social Services check and TB test
What Awaits You:
- Full-time schedule for the academic year
- Opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement
- Diverse caseload supporting both elementary and middle school populations
- Collaborative educational community near Washington, DC
- Supportive administration and multidisciplinary team environment
Bring your expertise in psychological assessment, consultation, and behavioral support to this rewarding role. If you’re ready for a dynamic, hybrid opportunity close to the nation’s capital, submit your application today and make a difference throughout the upcoming school year.
