This full-time position is perfect for a dedicated school psychologist passionate about making a positive difference across both elementary and middle school settings. As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, your expertise will shape student success and well-being from the start of August through the end of May.
What you'll bring:
- Current, active Virginia DOE certification
- Valid Virginia Psychologist License
- Experience conducting assessments, functional behavior assessments (FBA), and developing behavior intervention plans (BIP)
- Ability to provide effective consultation for educators and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Strength in collaboration with social workers and school staff
- Strong communication and counseling skills
- Commitment to completing all credentialing steps, including TB testing and the VA Department of Social Services background check
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and consult with staff to address student needs
- Provide FBA/BIP support for the schools and assist with MTSS implementation
- Collaborate with education teams—note that you will not be responsible for academic achievement testing
- Provide occasional support in counseling, partnering with social workers as needed
- Travel between one elementary and one middle school in northern Stafford
- Manage a schedule of 37.5 hours per week (8:00 am–3:30 pm), with flexibility for one remote workday per week in a 4/1 hybrid arrangement
