This full-time contract opportunity offers a blend of on-site presence and flexibility for one remote day each week. From August 3, 2026 to May 26, 2027, you’ll bring your expertise to one elementary and one middle school, located just a short drive from the heart of Washington, DC.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Active VA Department of Education Certification
- Current Virginia Psychologist Licensure
- Ability to promptly complete VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test
- Experience in assessment, consultation, FBA/BIP support, and familiarity with MTSS frameworks preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and participate in eligibility determinations
- Collaborate with school teams to develop and monitor Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Consult with educators, administrators, and families to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Occasionally provide support to social workers for student counseling needs
- Travel between one designated elementary and one middle school, with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to data-driven decision-making for student success
