Step into a dynamic educational environment as a School Psychologist supporting K-12 students with mild to moderate disabilities during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a real impact across multiple school buildings in an urban district. You’ll work onsite alongside a dedicated team, serving a caseload of approximately 60 students.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Active Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification
- Official university transcripts (must be provided before consideration)
- Prior experience in a school psychology setting or related agency preferred
- Comfortable working within an urban school community and knowledgeable about the unique needs and resources for students and families
- Understanding of the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations
- Strong collaboration, communication, and assessment skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for academic, cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning to determine service eligibility
- Actively engage in early identification and intervention strategies for students facing educational or emotional challenges
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop effective educational plans
- Clearly communicate evaluation findings to families and educational teams, fostering understanding and shared decision-making
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the consistent implementation of special education policies and best practices
- Support students and staff across diverse school settings and perform additional duties as assigned
