This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans from August to June, serving an urban district in the Greater Flint area, with a caseload of approximately 60 students experiencing mild to moderate disabilities. You'll work alongside a collaborative team, providing essential psychological services designed to promote student success and well-being.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification, or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification (required)
- Official university transcripts needed for submission
- Previous experience in school psychology or agency work preferred
- Strong understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations
- Comfort and commitment to working in an urban educational environment
- Insight into challenges faced by urban children and familiarity with supportive resources for students and their families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations (cognitive, academic, adaptive, social-emotional) to inform special education eligibility and planning
- Develop and assist with early identification and intervention strategies for students with academic, social, or emotional challenges
- Communicate assessment findings clearly to families, educators, and administrators, contributing to effective educational planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in ongoing professional development and training
- Ensure compliance with special education policies across assigned buildings
- Participate in district-level professional learning and contribute to a positive, supportive school climate
- Perform additional duties as assigned
